A moka pot, also known as an espresso maker, is a traditional device for preparing espresso and moka. The classic design consists of two pots that are screwed together in the middle to force hot water through the coffee grounds. The moka pot is particularly suitable for espresso grounds with a strong roast level and fine grind, as the hot water allows the grounds to swell optimally.
For a perfect mocha, a ratio of 25 grams of coffee powder to 500 milliliters of water is recommended. The preparation is done on the stove or induction plate, with the pot being removed from the heat as soon as the foam reaches the spout.
